Biography
Debra Fallowfield is a contemporary jeweller, not only in the sense of her amazing design but also in her approach to her work. Debra describes her work as ‘urban icons’. Her unusual offbeat designs are created in gold, silver and platinum and often set with rare gemstones or diamonds. Uncompromising workmanship and supreme attention to detail are Debra’s trademarks.
“Rings are my forte. I love working with solid, heavy gold and silver, yet giving the metal a smooth, lustrous, sensual finish.”
A graphic artist originally, she trained as a jeweller in Sydney and London until returning home to New Zealand in 1997. Although nearer to art than jewellery, she believes her work is to be worn, adored and adorned, not locked away in a glass case.
